Margaret Jean Grenda (nee Mayhew)
1927 - 2020

As the extremely blessed husband of a remarkable, beautiful, one in a million lady, I am sad to announce that my wonderful, 92-year-old wife finally lost the fight to stay with us. She passed away dignified and extremely peacefully with me holding her hand for the last time after 65 years of marriage and the family were all present at Cabrini Malvern at 12:50PM on Thursday 30th January 2020 when Margaret took her last breath.

Marg and all of our family were pretty much adopted by all of the fantastic staff at Cabrini who could not have done more to ensure all of our needs were met. The family and I would like to thank the nurses, doctors and all other staff for their superb support, diligence and care.

Her last reaction was when somebody in the room mentioned Rob Dogs name and she lifted her head, opened her eyes, and gave her wonderful smile.

The evening of her departure was highlighted by a spectacular sunset as a fitting tribute to Marg for a life beautifully lived.

Marg spent her life surrounded by those she loved and who loved her in return. Her five children, Geoff, Jan, Alison, Max and Scott. Her daughters and sons in law, Christine, Peter, Dellas and Fiona. Her nine grandchildren, Thomas, Mark, Pippa, Stephen, Lauren, Simon, Ashleigh, Jack and Harry. She felt like home to all, even those meeting her for the first time. Her warmth and generosity was always present.

She was a kind and generous lady, making time for everyone. She truly cared for those around her, whether they were life long friends, family or perfect strangers.

It is impossible to put into words everything that Margaret was and will continue to be in our memories. She loved everybody, and that love came back to her from all.

Rest in peace Marg,
Love you, Ken.
