Youths armed with hockey sticks storm Wine Dr store

POLICE are searching for two juveniles alleged to have attempted to rob a Wilsonton convenience store armed with hockey sticks.

The two boys, aged between 12 and 15 years, forced their way into the Wine Dr store about 6.45pm yesterday.

CCTV footage shows the two boys with their faces covered, possibly by a balaclava, enter the store armed with hockey sticks.

"One has entered the store brandishing a hockey stick and made a demand for cash," Child Protection Investigation Unit Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Tony Morris said.

"The store attendant did not comply with the demand and the two youths have run off."

Police swooped on the area in an attempt to locate the two youths last seen in the area after the attempted robbery.

"It was a very quick offence and nothing was taken at the time," Det. Act. Snr Sgt Morris said.

The two boys are described as being aged between 12 and 15 years, between 130cm - 140cm tall with a slim build.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
