Youth worker urges kids and parents to get involved

Youth worker Nicola Fisher is encouraging more kids to get involved in Community Development Services' free and fun events.

CDS will host a free DJ workshop for kids from 4pm today at the Hilton street branch.

"If we get enough numbers this afternoon we hope to run a DJ competition for youth in the region," Ms Fisher said.

Ms Fisher is growing increasingly frustrated with low turn outs at free youth events put on by the service.

"I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle some times," she said.

"I'd like to see 40 or 50 kids turn up... at the moment we're seeing four or five."

The DJ workshop will be held at 15 Hilton Street, Stanthorpe from 4pm today.
