Young musicians get chance at art gallery

MUSIC in the Gallery returns Sunday with the annual Talents of Youth recital at the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery.

Some of the region's most talented young musicians will be part of the free performance from 2pm.

The annual event was always dear to the heart of the late Joan Smith.

Joan was a key member in the formation of the Border District Eisteddfod Committee in 1977 and the Talents of Youth recital provided an encore for some of the young performers who impressed at this year's eisteddfod.

Some of those performing Sunday are the winners of their particular category while others have been selected because of their outstanding talent or choice of performance.

Performance experience is invaluable for young singers and musicians, and therefore the recital for Music in the Gallery is a valuable platform for these young people.

Your attendance as an appreciative and supportive audience cannot be overstated.

To see and hear some of the rising stars of the Granite Belt, head to the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery on Sunday.

Admission to the event is free and the program is scheduled to commence at 2pm.
