Young mother sexually assaulted while visiting man's house

A MAN who sexually assaulted a young mum visiting his home to borrow videos for her children has walked free from court.

Peter Glen Pianta rubbed the woman's buttocks, laid her on the floor, pulled one of her breasts out of her shirt and squeezed it during the attack.

On Monday the Stanthorpe District Court heard the woman and her children went to the 50-year-old's house on the afternoon of February 20.

The Wallangarra man first rubbed the woman's buttocks and squeezed them.

Crown Prosecutor Russell Hood said Pianta then grabbed the woman's singlet top.

The woman attempted to go and retrieve her children but the man persisted.

The victim said "no" and told Pianta to get off her.

The woman went home in tears and revealed the assault to her partner. Pianta pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault and was sentenced to six months jail, which was wholly suspended, allowing him to walk free from court.
