Year 7 students settling into new high school routine

THE first week has flown by and we are now all settled into classes and learning has commenced.

The Year 7 students are settling in very well and have already made lots of friends.

They have plenty of school activities to participate in during the next few weeks, including swimming trials and a swimming carnival, as well as their very first school leadership investiture ceremony.

Year 7 students have also begun their classes in earnest, learning more about the five core subjects of Maths, English, Science, HPE and Humanities.

They have also commenced their elective rotations, which last one term each. These include Dance, Music, Art and Drama.

When asked about the highlights of their first week at high school, they answered:

"We have made loads of friends.”

"I have started new classes which I have never done before.”

"I love the freedom of high school.”

"The teachers have been really helpful.”

"There are so many things to do.”

By the smiles on their faces at lunchtime, I think they have settled in very well and are looking forward to a big year.
