Woolies helps out our farmers

SHOPPERS are being encouraged along to Woolworths on Saturday with the Stanthorpe supermarket set donate profits to ailing farmers.

All profits from sales in the fresh department on Saturday will be donated to Rural Aid's Buy a Bale appeal in support of farmers impacted by the drought.

"It's been amazing to see our customers and team rally behind Aussie farmers impacted by this drought,” Woolworths Stanthorpe store manager Charles Seeto said.

"In less than a week, Woolworths customers nationally have already donated in excess of $600,000 for Rural Aid's Buy a Bale appeal through our checkouts nationwide.

"This means all profits from sales of fruit and veg, meat, the chilled section, bakery and deli at Woolworths Stanthorpe, supermarkets nationwide and online this Saturday will help support farmers doing it tough because of the drought,” he said.

Fresh department profits donated on Saturday will help Rural Aid fund more stock livestock feed for farmers, household supplies and counselling services.
