Women square up for fights

TWO women's fights will be on the program for the Warwick Boxing Club Fight Night at King's Theatre at the Warwick RSL on Saturday night.

Warwick RSL Memorial Club employee Katrina Harvey will feel right at home when she steps into the ring against Natalie Jankinson, of Pacific Club from Redland Bay.

Harvey has one win and two losses in her three fights.

Trainer Rodd Parry said he was confident about Harvey's chances.

"Natalie has been to the Pan Pacific Games but has had a break for a while so I am confident Katrina can win," Parry said.

"Katrina is an aggressive and determined fighter. She trains at the boxing club and does additional training sessions at a gym."

Katie Stagg will be the second woman from Warwick on the program on Saturday.

The 17-year-old had an exhibition fight against Isabelle Schubert at Roma a week ago.

"I was pleased with Katie's effort against Isabelle," Parry said.

"I am also trying to match Britnee Wallace."

The night will also include a celebrity bout between Graham Bone and Al Fogarty.

Tickets for the night are for sale at the Warwick RSL.

Cost is $15 for adults if pre-purchased at RSL, $20 on the night. Children's tickets are $5, children under 7 free.
