Woman run over by a car on Southern Downs

A WOMAN in her 30s has been airlifted from Stanthorpe to Princess Alexandra Hospital after allegedly being run over.

The incident was at 9.47pm Saturday on the corner of Symes and Folkestone streets in Stanthorpe.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the woman suffered a leg injury and was transported to Stanthorpe Hosital.

A spokesperson for RACQ LifeFlight said she was reportedly hit from behind by a car and injured while walking through town with a friend.

RACQ LifeFlight was called at 1.15am Sunday to airlift the woman to hospital in Brisbane.
