Woman died suddenly yesterday at Murray Falls

POLICE will prepare a report for the coroner following a sudden death at Murray Falls near Tully yesterday afternoon.

Initial reports suggest a woman aged in her 20s was last seen near the lookout at the top of the falls around 2pm.

A search involving emergency services, including volunteers from the State Emergency Service (SES) failed to locate any sign of the woman yesterday.

The search was suspended overnight with police and SES volunteers remaining on site.

The search resumed this morning and the body of a woman was located at around 9am in the pool at the bottom of Murray Falls.

The woman is believed to be a Japanese national.

There are no suspicious circumstances.
