Woman assaults her landlord

A WOMAN became so enraged at her impending eviction she wrestled her landlord down a set of stairs while pulling her hair.

Julie Jay Marie Horrigan became aggressive when her landlord removed the keys from her caravan door, and proceeded to tackle her onto concrete.

The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm in the Warwick Magistrates Court this week.

The court heard the eviction came after Horrigan and her boyfriend at the time fell into rent arrears at the caravan park in which they were residing.

Both the victim and Horrigan sustained minor injuries from the October 30 incident.

Defence counsel for the Brisbane woman told the court his client contacted police following the incident as Horrigan has Hepatitis C and was concerned since she was bleeding following the fight.

He said Horrigan told police she was attempting to recover a keyring her children had made for her, which was on the keys the landlord had taken.

Horrigan -who the court heard had two pages of history -was fined $900 and a conviction was recorded.
