Woman, 61, tells court she keeps air rifle to kill rats

POSSESSING a firearm without a licence cost a 61-year-old woman a $450 fine in the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court.

Susan Lynette Ciaramella pleaded guilty on Thursday, saying she kept the air rifle to kill rats.

Magistrate Graeme Tatnell ordered the weapon be forfeited to the crown for destruction.
