Woman, 21, charged over the death of Charters Towers baby

POLICE have charged a 21-year-old woman in relation to the death of an infant in Charters Towers on November 4.

The woman has been charged with concealing child birth and misconduct with regard to a corpse.

The 21-year-old is scheduled to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Police would like to thank the media and the public for the assistance throughout the investigation.

They also pointed out that reports that the nfant suffered a head injury were inaccurate.
