Winner at the death

United v Inter Club:

Inter's Men's side were unlucky not to be the first to overcome Stanthorpe United in A-grade this season with the young squad showcasing why they'll be a finals threat come August.

After claiming a convincing 5-0 win back in April, United were lucky to get away with three points after Inter led 1-0 for much of the match.

United pulled one back from the penalty spot after an Inter player handled the ball on the line and received his marching orders.

It was hard to tell Inter were down a player for the last 30 minutes, as they fought resiliently until the death. Tired legs set in, allowing United's Curtis Allen to grab the winner with roughly 10 left on the clock.

United are waiting on scans for player Dan Davies, after he suffered a horrible leg injury.

Earlier in the day Inter and United's Fillies played out an enthralling 3-3 game. That was followed by a convincing win for Inter in the Junior Colts.

With player numbers low and United having to field several ladies player's in Senior Colts, it was a gutsy effort to go down 5-0. Inter needed two 30-yard efforts and a penalty to grab the lead before two classy team goals.

United kept Inter goalless in the second half and will take some confidence into their game against Tenterfield this coming Saturday.

In the Ladies tie United got one over Inter. Their first round clash proved to be one of the most exciting end to end games of the season to date. But this time out, goals to Brittany McEvoy and Jess Westerhout separated the two.

Despite the best efforts of Inter's Celeste Buda and Brodie Pearce, who were excellent down the left side, the United girls snatched a further three points to help their finals shout.
