Wheatvale now on the level
A MISLEADING water gauge has now been fixed after it was brought to the attention of council by the Daily News.
Last week a concerned Wheatvale resident contacted the paper to say the gauge on a local low-level crossing was positioned on a 30cm ledge on the crossing, which meant in floods, the reading was half a metre lower than it should be.
Council’s engineering department promptly responded and last week inspected the gauge.
“It was incorrectly installed so we have rectified it and it is now complete,” engineering director Peter See said.
