Jumping for joy to sound of jazz
MASKED by scaffolding the Warwick Town Hall does not look like much now but her transformation will be worth the wait.
The current timetable has the renovations scheduled to finish in time for Jumpers and Jazz in July.
Manager of facilities Greg Thouard said the 130 year old building's renovation had progressed to the next stage.
"Underpinning works commenced in March and now these works are complete," Mr Thouard said.
"The next stage is sandstone restoration of the front section of Town Hall.
"The current works are planned to take six weeks and finish in early June followed by forecourt paving to have Town Hall looking resplendent for Jumpers and Jazz."
Mayor Ron Bellingham said he realised the festival puts significant pressure on the contractors to have the renovations finished in time.
"To date I am extremely please with the work that has been performed by the contractors and the work they have done has been above the standard I expected," he said.
"I have every confidence that the contractors will finish in time and while I realise we need rain I hope the weather will not impact their progress."
