Watmough puts faith in Manly's ability to tame Broncos
THEY might be without key back rowers Glenn Stewart (knee) and Tony Williams (Bulldogs), but Manly stalwart Anthony Watmough has backed his fellow forwards to get the job done against the Broncos in Friday night's season opener in Brisbane.
Watmough yesterday revealed he would need pain-killing injections to get through each game in 2013 after suffering a rib injury in a trial match two weeks ago.
Coach Geoff Toovey will name his side today, with Watmough confident former Parramatta player Justin Horo would get the nod in the Sea Eagles pack after a strong pre-season.
"Probably Justin Horo has been one of the ones who has stood out to me," Watmough said.
"I think his skill and his athleticism is second to none and wherever he fits into the team on Friday night he will do a job for us."
Horo will line up against Matt Gillett who has named in the Broncos back row after showing he was back to his best in trials against the Titans and Warriors.
Gillett's inclusion has forced coach Anthony Griffin to move Sam Thaiday into the front-row where he will partner Queensland Origin hopeful Josh McGuire.
