Warwick preparing for drag cup
IT will be Warwick versus Toowoomba in the Whoop Ass Cup at the Warwick Dragway on Saturday.
There is a bracket meeting on Saturday which will double as the final round of the track championships for 2010.
Warwick District Drag Racing Association publicity officer John Loy said nominations would be accepted on the day.
“It is $35 to race, with each driver having up to 15 runs in qualifying and three rounds of racing,” Loy said.
In the Whoop Ass Cup, the Warwick association will match the number of drivers who enter from Toowoomba.
“Both centres form teams and the Cup goes to the team with the most points,” Loy said.
“Whoop Ass Cup day is for all the family and there will be food and refreshments for sale to enable people to stay into the night.”
The Warwick Shopping Trolleys team was captained to victory by Scott Thompson last year.
Saturday’s meeting is the last bracket meeting for the year with only the Christmas break-up to go next month.
Gates open at 10am Saturday with qualifying from noon and racing from 6pm. Admission is $10 for adults, children under 12 free.
