Warwick loses early wickets

JASON Steketee made 47 out of a Warwick total of 102 in Mitchell Shield cricket at Rope Hill yesterday.

Lockyer batted first to score 162 with Joe Wallace making 80 off 52 balls.

Chris Cantwell took 3-44 off eight overs, Paul Cantwell 3-20 from five overs and Greg Louis 2-32 off five overs.

Warwick lost early wickets to be 4-19 before Steketee strode to the wicket at number six.

Steketee added 39 for the seventh wicket with Donald Miller.

In Davis Shield, Lockyer was bowled out for 250.

Duncan Dukes took 3-30 in his debut for Warwick, including wickets off his last two deliveries of the innings.

Hugh Wren took 2-34 and Coen Slatter took 2-44.

With the bat, Warwick was 0-38 off 10 overs at lunch with Matthew Authurs and Jeff Morris keeping the bowlers at bay.

Morris top scored with 51, Matt Elford hit 48 and Authurs 38.

Mitchell Siebenhausen, 36, showed plenty of class in the middle order as he attacked the bowlers but Warwick fell short by 25 runs.

The next round of representative games are at Central Downs on December 5.
