HOCKEY: Warwick State High School student William Ready has made the Queensland 10-12 years hockey team to play in the nationals.

He played for Darling Downs in the state championships at the State Hockey Centre at Colmslie from Thursday to Sunday.

William scored two goals for a Darling Downs team which came third in the state championships.

The Warwick forward played in an inside forward position.

He first played hockey at the age of six in the Warwick Hockey Association.

At the age of 10, he was selected as a Darling Downs shadow player and made the regional team for the first time last year when he won a gold medal at the state championships with the regional team.

He will compete for the Queensland 10-12 years team at the Pacific School Games in Adelaide in December.
