Health staff caught in pay bungle

WARWICK health staff have again missed out on being paid, due to a bank processing error.

A massive 4875 staff on the Darling Downs were affected by the error, but a Queensland Health spokeswoman yesterday said they were working on solving the problem.

"Staff didn't get paid, but Queensland Health is working with the Commonwealth Bank on the situation to fix it as soon as possible," she said.

Queensland Health's director-general Tony O'Connell said it was not the health department's fault, and was solely a bank error.

"The Commonwealth Bank acknowledged their receipt of the pay run files, advised Queensland Health they were being processed and transferred the money out of Queensland Health's account for distribution to staff," Dr O'Connell said.

But, as of yesterday afternoon, accounts of workers remained untouched.
