Parking woes from lack of planning

LACK of planning has led to parking chaos all around the region’s schools, councillors say.

Following up on complaints from Pratten Street residents who have to deal with cars parked in front of their houses during Warwick West State School hours, Cr Jo McNally raised the issue at Tuesday’s general meeting.

Council is unable to police it without significant expenditure and no other parking is available.

Mayor Ron Bellingham slammed State Government for having “no common sense” when building and expanding schools.

He said: “It’s a problem in schools across the region.

“They keep building and building and building with no parking provisions.”
