
Body found as emergency services investigate Wandal fire
UPDATE 12.30pm: A BODY has been located inside a house following a fire in Wandal this morning..
The body is yet to be identified.
The cause of the fire is still to be determined.
Police investigations are continuing with relevant authorities.
UPDATE 10.45am Neighbours reported hearing a loud bang just before the house became engulfed in flames.
Police are yet to enter the premises as fire crews work to extinguish hot spots.
Queensland Fire and Rescue Services investigators will arrive in Rockhampton this afternoon to assist police forensic teams to determine the cause of this morning's fire.
9am: IT is a believed at least one person is dead after a house fire in Wandal this morning.
Queensland Fire and Rescue Service was called to the Heath St property at 7.37am where they were confronted by a single storey fibro dwelling in full blaze.
The fire was brought under control at 8.05am.
Five crews are now on the scene using breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to locate hot spots.
Once the fire is completely extinguished, police will enter the building to begin their investigations.
The dead person's identity is unknown.
