Undefeated season ends in grand final win
CITY went into Saturday's Senior Colts grand final as heavy favourites having gone the year without a loss to their name.
In slippery conditions, the game started with Ballandean coming out firing. They had the first couple of scoring opportunities but were denied by the solid City backline.
Mid-way through the first half City scored through the boot of Ben Armbruster.
From then, City took control and with some individual brilliance from Lachie Gilbert, launched a long-range shot into the back of the net.
They went into the break 2-0 up. The second half saw some good end-to-end football with City midfielder's Cooper Smith and Nate Webb controlling the game.
Rory McDonagh scored another long-range goal for City to put the game out of reach for Ballandean.
However, the Reds never gave up and continued to fight right up until the final whistle.
