Bikers bring in Christmas cheer
IT was smiles all round last Sunday as the supported employees from Warwick Endeavour Industries gathered for the Ulysses 2010 Endeavour Christmas Ride.
Ulysses Warwick District Branch Ride Co-ordinator Les Aspery said this is the third ride they have held for the Endeavour Clients family and friends and has grown each year.
Les said they had to call on neighbouring Ulysses Branches of Darling Downs and Mt Lindsay to have enough bikes to cater for the 40 clients.
Hungry Jacks provide clients with either burgers or drinks before being briefed on mounting and dismounting a motorcycle and being a pillion passenger.
Then it was time for the Endeavour clients to pick a rider and bike with which they would go on the 40km ride out along the Killarney Road across Mapes Road and back along Junabee Road meeting at Queens Park for a barbecue lunch.
Mr Aspery said the clients enjoyed some games before the Warwick Fire Brigade made a visit with them all getting a chance to use the fire hose.
Endeavour support workers said it was great to see the smiles on the clients’ faces and a great opportunity for them to get together outside their work environment.
