Two men front court after burglary and car chase

TWO men are to face court today charged with burglary and other offences after police intercepted an alleged stolen vehicle early this morning.

Police will allege that around 12.45am officers attempted to intercept a stolen vehicle at Salisbury however it failed to stop.

A tyre deflation device was later successfully deployed on Beaudesert Road at Rocklea.

It will be further alleged at this time the vehicle drove directly towards a police officer standing beside a police vehicle forcing him to take evasive action to avoid being struck.

The vehicle has continued on before stopping at Colbourne Street, Acacia Ridge. Two men were arrested by police nearby.

An 18-year-old Inala man has been charged with four counts of burglary and commit an indictable offence, two counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence and two counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle.

A 19-year-old Inala man has been charged with three counts of burglary and commit indictable offence, and one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle, dangerous operation of vehicle, fail to stop motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.

Both are expected to appear at the Richlands Magistrates Court today (May 30).
