Truck route takes turn for worse
AFTER becoming lost, a truck driver's journey took a turn for the worse when a fire broke out in his cabin.
The driver was travelling on the Gatton-Clifton Road 950 metres from the New England Highway when it is believed an electrical failure started a fire in his vehicle.
Clifton Police Sergeant Guy Smidt said around midnight on Tuesday a small body truck caught fire.
Emergency services attended and a spokeswoman from Queensland Fire and Rescue said the seven tonne truck wasn't carrying anything.
She said the fire was brought under control at around 12.20am with the aid of Clifton Rural Brigade, which helped provide water.
