Driver suffers head, back injuries in truck rollover

UPDATE: The male driver of a truck that crashed on the Millmerran-Cecil Plains Rd this morning has been transported by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter with suspected head and back injuries.

Millmerran police officer Senior Constable Hans van Kempen said police were still investigating the cause of the single vehicle crash.

He said the incident happened on a right hand sweeping bend of the road.

The two-trailer truck which was carrying grain ended up on its side following the crash.

Snr Const. van Kempen said he was unable to speak with the driver.

The road was closed this morning but was reopened this afternoon.

Snr Const. van Kempen said the road would again be closed briefly while authorities worked to remove the truck.

EARLIER: A truck driver has been seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash south of Toowoomba.

The crash on the Millmerran-Cecil Plains Rd, 10km from Millerran, was reported about 11.43am.

Emergency services had to free the truck driver from the crash wreckage.

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter has been called to the crash scene to airlift the driver to Toowoomba Hospital.

Emergency services remain on scene.
