Trial flights for budding pilots

ANYONE who has ever had the desire to soar above the clouds, now has a rare opportunity in their grasp.

The Queensland Recreational Aircraft Association is giving aspiring pilots a free trial flight as a taster for those who are thinking about taking up flying as either a career option or recreational activity.

Chief flying instructor Kelvin Hutchinson said he saw people of all ages take up flying, ranging from the young to retirees.

Many people, including Mr Hutchinson, started to take flying lessons at a younger age but put it on the back burner until their children had grown and they had more free time to pursue the dream.

"Some people have a burning desire to fly at some time in their life and this will help them over the hump to see if it's something they'd like to do," Mr Hutchinson said.

The experienced flying instructor said the average person can learn to fly in around 12 months, at a cost of less than $5000.

Call to book a trial flight on 0407733836 or visit the club website at www.qraa.info.
