Trail ride to head for the hills

THE rolling hills and pastures of Yangan are always postcard perfect, and locals say they look even better from the saddle of a horse.

Next month, people can see it for themselves when Yangan State School holds its second annual trail ride and Warwick Credit Union Bush Muster, all in memory of former parent Leanne Hoffman.

Leanne Hoffman lost her battle with melanoma two years ago, and the trail ride on March 10-11, will not only raise money, but awareness of skin cancer.

"This year we have two rides - the Saturday ride and a recovery one on Sunday," said Yangan P&C president Anne-Maree Kelly.

"Leanne was very much into horse riding so it's nice to do this in her honour."

This year's horse ride will go to Hoffman's hill, which is on Leanne's family's property.

Entry for the trail ride is $45, $25 for children under 18 and people must bring their own horse. Proceeds being shared between Yangan P&C and Cancer Council. More at www.yanganss.eq.edu.au.
