Top muso in town

WHEN 8 Ball Aitken takes to the stage, it is hard not to catch the bluesy fever.

Hailing from Northern Queensland, the musician will headline the Killarney Cup Race Day in February.

8 Ball Aitken said he was excited to be playing for the Rose City.

"I've never played in Warwick before, but I have driven through more than 100 times and always wanted to play. It's a great size town," 8 Ball Aitken said.

He congratulated the organisers of the race day event for their choice of style.

"The guys at the turf club have got a winning combination - blues, beers, barbecue and races - what a cracker," he said.

8 Ball Aitken will be on his way to the Gold Coast from Tamworth when he stops in at Warwick for the day.

He promised to be pumping the tunes to get the party spirit flowing.

"We'll play the sort of music people can get up and have a dance to," 8 Ball Aitken said.

"We've got a brand new album coming out in January so we'll be playing some new stuff and dressing up bluesy too, but what we will be wearing will be a surprise.

"All I can say is, locals should get their colours on," he said.
