Thieves steal unusual replica pistol from war veterans

AN ELDERLY couple whose house was broken into yesterday have been robbed of an unusual replica pistol. 

Police are asking for the public's help in solving the break and enter of the war veterans' home in Toowoomba.

Police say the couple left their Newtown home about 2pm yesterday. They returned an hour later only to find the house had been broken into and searched.

Thieves made off with a television, money and a replica pistol.

The pistol is described as a 'George Washington Pistol' and is not capable of discharging a projectile.

The photograph below shows the box the pistol came in with an image of the pistol on the front.
