The town's triple threat

THIS year's cultural award winner is someone people in the arts would refer to as a triple threat.

Leonie Welch fills numerous important roles at the Stanthorpe Art Gallery from vice president to caterer for gallery openings.

Along with the art gallery work, she plays an integral part in the Granite Belt Choir, sharing her musical talents.

Leonie is also heavily involved in the theatre community and shares her talents with the community at a number of events.

She said the award made her feel humbled and honoured.

"There's always a lot happening in the music community, in various forums in the theatre community and in the art gallery," she said.

"I get involved in all three.

"It's an honour to live in this community and to be able to contribute to it."
