Rain signals end to dry spell

THE rain band currently hovering west of Warwick, at Surat and Goondiwindi, is expected to reach the Rose City in a matter of hours, signalling the end to the dry spell.

Patchy, light rain is already falling in outer areas and could reach Warwick mid-afternoon, but the heavy rain band - bringing with it a strong possibility of thunderstorm - is due to arrive early evening.

Rain and cloud cover is then expected to stay until Saturday.

Warwick residents could experience flash-flooding over the next few days, and are urged to check all weather warnings issued by the Bureau of Meteorology.
