Behold, the Face-Kini, also known as a bikini for your face or as many others describe it, "China's most terrifying swimwear trend".

They may be a little alarming at first, but the popular swimwear accessory offers full-face protection from the sun and jellyfish stings. What a win.

If you're getting tired of slopping on sunscreen and catching youself in the eye, the Face-Kini also has you covered.

The nylon mask is particularly popular among Chinese women because in China, the colour of your skin can represent socio-economic status. Whiter skin is considered to represent wealth and beauty.

The Fackini was invented by a former accountant Zhang Shifan in the early 2000s, and more than 30,000 have been sold in the last year.

"Where can I get one?!" you may ask.

Fortunately they come in a wide range of different styles and patterns. The 'Rainbow Leopard' is definitely a favourite.
