Teers got the goods: Trainer

CHRIS Fox thinks Warwick boxer Kyle Teer is more than ready for his fight with Will Young on Smithy's Fight Night tonight at Rumours in Toowoomba.

Fox trains Teer at the Warwick Boxing Club gym.

"We have made two trips to Toowoomba for spas at Smith's Gym and once to Fighting Fit Gym in Toowoomba," Fox said.

"Kyle had four rounds with Jack Asis, from Smithy's Gym, and went pretty well.

"Jack already had six rounds of sparring before he fought Kyle but is an exceptional fighter who will go places."

Fox hasn't seen Young fight but has been told he is a similar boxer to Teer.

"Both are tough and like to go forward," Fox said.

"Kyle has the more experience of the two and I reckon he will be too busy for Will. We have Kyle really fit."

Teer has been offered a Queensland title fight over eight rounds against Bribie Island boxer Ty Gilchrist for the vacant light welterweight title but Fox is not rushing a decision until after tonight. "Kyle lost on points to Ty in his first professional bout over four rounds but I reckon a longer title fight over eight rounds would suit Kyle."

Fox expects a large Warwick contingent to head to Toowoomba for the fight night.

Ticket costs are $75 ringside and $45 for general admission.

Tickets at Smithy's Gym in Anzac Ave, Toowoomba, phone 4637 8298 or from the National Hotel, in Toowoomba.
