Teen raped his young stepbrother, court told

A TEENAGER has pleaded guilty in the District Court in Mackay to raping his younger stepbrother.

Crown prosecutor Susan Hedge said the anal rape occurred on an unknown date. The now 16-year-old boy had been either 14 or 15 at the time and his stepbrother had been five or six years old.

She said the younger boy had been in pain, and the elder had warned him to not tell anyone. The home was isolated, making the younger boy more "vulnerable".

Ms Hedge tendered a victim impact statement and said the incident had had a "significant" impact on the complainant's family.

She said the offender had no criminal history. He had made full admissions to police and said he didn't know why he did it but accepted it was "wrong" and "disgusting".

Judge Stewart Durward adjourned the sentencing to Tuesday.
