Tears for lost Caroline

IT was a wedding tale that brought tears to the community and moved many people to extraordinary lengths.

Twenty-two-year-old Caroline Dieckmann, nee Bell, passed away yesterday morning after a courageous battle with cancer.

Caroline was diagnosed with terminal cancer in October 2010 and was recently given just weeks to live.

She had one last wish - to marry her man Bryce Dieckmann - and she did just that.

Family members said she even managed to get a "little tiddly" at her wedding reception and partied on into the early hours of the evening.

A mother of one, Caroline was a pillar of strength, courage and a true inspiration.

When her family was frantically stressing about the prospect of having to say goodbye, Caroline was the strong voice calming them and telling them it would be okay.

One lady, who had never met Caroline yet stretched beyond her limits to assist the family during the organisation of Caroline's wedding, Jody Ezzy, was one of many deeply touched and inspired by this incredible woman.

"Caroline, you have made me stop and take a good hard look at myself and those around me, and really think hard about what is important. For this I thank you," Mrs Ezzy said.

"Mrs Caroline Dieckmann is someone I will never forget."
