Teacher sent sexually explicit messages to Year 11 girl

A QUEENSLAND teacher has been banned from working in schools until 2018, after sending sexually-charged messages to a Year 11 student.

The Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal described Christopher Desmond Metcalf's​ behaviour as "disgraceful and improper", and ruled he would need to pass stringent psychological testing if he wanted to return to teaching after the ban.

Metcalf was in his early 40s when he began sending explicit messages to the girl in his film studies class during 2013.

The communication began after he saw clips of the girl in different states of undress while editing a student film project, QCAT heard.

He sent an email to the student which said: "Well here I am at school on a Public Holiday like an idiot making a film that will be shit for a principal who isn't even going to be here next term...I woke up this morning as horny as a two headed unicorn, but I had to get up and come in here to work on this…"
