Peregian man charged with murder over Coast death

UPDATE: DETECTIVES  have charged a man following the investigation of a suspicious death on the Sunshine Coast.

Police were called to Ernest Street in Tewantin following reports a person was lying on the roadway.

Upon arrival a 21-year-old man was found with injuries to his chest.

 He was rushed to hospital but died on arrival.

A 38-year-old Peregian Springs Man has been charged with one count of murder and will appear at the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday, December 29.

The two men were known to each other.

Body of man found lying on roadway at Tewantin

DETECTIVES are investigating the suspicious death of a man at Tewantin overnight.

Around 1am police were called to Ernest Street following reports a person was lying on the roadway.

Upon arrival a 21-year-old man was found with injuries to his chest.  He was transported to hospital but died on arrival.

A crime scene has been declared on Ernest Street whilst examinations are conducted at the scene.

Police are asking anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
