Students to head south for band blast spectacular
STANTHORPE State School's events calendar for Term 2 has already been packed full of exciting events, and we are not even half-way through the term.
Students have participated in our school cross country and fun run, marched in the Anzac parade, enjoyed shopping at our Book Fair and the P&C Mother's Day Stall and invited their mums in to our Mother's Day celebration.
Our Year 6s are currently at Tallebudgera Beach School having the time of their lives, and our Year 3s and 5s are engaging with the NAPLAN testing with the help of their NAPLAN Survival Kit provided by our fabulous P&C.
Mother's Day celebration
OUR school families were invited into school last Friday for a Mother's Day celebration of song and dance, with performances by our dance and choir students.
Our students sang several songs, including Mum is all you need to their visiting mums, grandmas, aunties and friends.
Our Mother's Day treat finished with a picnic on the oval for the entire school community.
Big Band Blast
SEVERAL of our band students are looking forward to attending and performing at the annual Big Band Blast to be held in Port Macquarie next month.
Students have been attending rehearsals with other-like minded band students from across the Southern Downs, to prepare for their performance with the Southern Downs Big Band.
Our students will also be able to take in performances by up to 40 participating big bands across four stages, jam sessions, workshops, feature performances and a concert night with special guest performers.
IF YOUR child was born between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014, they will be eligible to start Prep next year.
Prep enrolment week is next week, May 21-26.
