In the wire sculpture section, Leshenta W came first and Lexi D received a highly commended.
Congratulations to all who received prizes.
Beyond Year 10 camp
AT THE beginning of this term, Year 10 students attended the Beyond Year 10 camp at USQ Toowoomba.
The three-day camp was developed to raise awareness and aspiration of pathways into higher education for Year 10 students before selecting their subjects for senior schooling.
The students toured several different businesses from a range of industries and were able to get an insight into all the different occupations that allow a business to operate.
There were talks by the Defence Force and a visit to TAFE Queensland to also expose students to different post-schooling options.
The students were also able to get a taste of university life by staying on-campus and having current uni students show them around and discuss what it was like to go to university.
All the students had a great time mixing with students from different schools and soaking in all the possibilities that the future might hold.
State Trials
for Cross Country
AT THE beginning of the term Ella B and Hamish F both represented Darling Downs at the State Cross Country Championships.
Ella B was lucky enough to be chosen as the captain of her team and ran a personal best.
Her relay team also placed fourth on the day.
Well done Ella.
Hamish came in strong and placed first making him the State Champion U10 Multiclass Boy.
This means he has secured a spot in the state team and will compete in the nationals at the end of this month.
He also placed third in his relay team.
Huge achievement.
We wish you good luck Hamish F.
Sports News
WELL done to Millie, Chloe, Mia, Bella and Ella who represented Mac Zone at the Darling Downs U12 girls rugby league trials recently.
The girls had a fantastic day and played really well alongside their other teammates from our Mac Zone and Southern Downs areas.
Our players demonstrated some great defensive tackles and some very strong runs.
We would like to thank Jason Fairleigh our district rugby league development officer, who travelled to Texas to help train the girls on two separate occasions.
Your support is very much appreciated.
