Storms headed for Granite Belt

A STORM cell west of Stanthorpe is currently headed towards the Granite Belt.

Residents can expect the worst of the lightning and thunder from around 8pm this evening, however BoM meteorologist Adam Blazak said the storms do not appear to be dangerous.

He advised residents to monitor the radar throughout the night and ensure all outdoor furniture is secured.

Severe conditions such as fast winds and hail are unlikely to occur.
