State's chief scientist stood aside amidst fraud charges

THE state's chief scientist, Professor Suzanne Miller, has been stood aside on full pay while she faces fraud charges.

Professor Miller, who is also the CEO of the Queensland Museum, has been issued with a notice to show cause within 21 days.

Innovation Minister Leeanne Enoch confirmed the arrangements this morning while refusing to say whether Professor Miller still had her full confidence.

However, she did praise the "incredibly successful" work of the senior public servant in bringing science to the fore.
