State of Origin 2015 opener: How Qld players rated
Billy Slater 7 Brought his characteristic high evergy and a danger with the ball. Always a nuisance. Good under the high ball.
Darius Boyd 5 Quiet night. Could have scored but for a Greg Inglis wayward pass ball in the 46th minute.
Greg Inglis 6 Very quiet and blew a try in the second half. Being in hospital for three days before game could not have helped.
Justin Hodges 7 Some nice runs in most likely his last Origin game in Sydney.
Will Chambers 7 Great run early to return a kick to the 40m line. Scored off a well-worked play to get Queensland equal at 10-all in second half.
Johnathan Thurston 7 Nice grubber for potential Slater near-try in 7th. Controlled the game well, and was a class above the Blues halves.
Cooper Cronk 8 Busy early and scored Queensland's first try with clever footwork near line, as well as the winning field goal.
ORIGIN: HELP ME, I'M TURNING INTO MY MUM
Matt Scott 6 Some solid runs once again at this level.
Cameron Smith 8 In his 34th Origin and once again did not let his state down. Brilliant vision to run from dummy-half and put Cronk over for game's first try.
Nate Myles 7 ½ Tough defence and strong in attack all night for this veteran Origin warrior.
Aidan Guerra 7 A threat on the fringes. Held up over the try line in 30th minute.
Sam Thaiday 8 Every run full of energy. One of Queensland's best.
Corey Parker 7 ½ Heavy involvement as usual and good yards with the ball, regularly attracting multiple defenders.
Interchange:
Josh McGuire 6 Impressive toughness and poise in his debut Origin off the bench.
Matt Gillett 5 Made small impact on the game.
Jacob Lillyman 6 produced some strong runs.
Michael Morgan 6 A few half-threatening involvements in his Origin debut.
