Spanish drug accused pleads not guilty in Supreme Court
A FIVE-MAN and seven-woman jury has been selected to decide if Spanish national Julia Maria Boada Fernandez is guilty of possessing a commercial quantity of an illegally imported, border controlled drug.
Fernandez has entered a plea of not guilty in the Bundaberg Supreme Court today.
Fernandez was one of four people arrested on November 12, 2011 after the Australian Federal Police seized an estimated 300kg of drugs and $3.5m in cash at the Bundaberg Port Marina.
At the time of the bust, police said it was rated as the nation's fifth-biggest drug haul.
