Show to be a stellar event

THE Stanthorpe Show will be celebrating its 136th birthday this year and patrons are being advised it is one not to be missed.

Stanthorpe Agricultural Society secretary Leanne Williams said they were trying to make it the best show yet.

"Last year we had 6500 people through the gates and this year we're wanting to make it the biggest and best, being the first show of the year," Mrs Williams said.

Executive committee member Teena Wilcock said this year's show will be packed with entertainment and fun activities.

"Not everything is in concrete yet, but it will be very exciting," Mrs Wilcock said.

"We will have cooking demonstrations, a big sideshow alley, a big show jumping course, sheep dogs and cattle.

"There will be fireworks and live music on the Friday night too.

"There's something for everyone and always something new," she said.

The Stanthorpe Show is on from February 3 to 5 at the Stanthorpe Showgrounds.
