Shocked mayor offers support for Biddeston community

TOOWOOMBA Regional Council Mayor Paul Antonio said the community was shocked by the Biddeston murders.

Cr Antonio said he hoped the family of the victims had people around them to help them through the tragedy.

"I think as a community we should make sure they have good support," Cr Antonio said.

He also acknowledged the efforts of police and emergency services confronted with the horror scene.

"I think too often we take the role of our police force and emergency services for granted."

He described the incident as terrible.

"It's very, very hard to understand how a thing like this could happen."
