Severnlea Preps settle into new school routine

OUR new students have settled in very nicely over the past two weeks at Severnlea State School.

In class they are already into the routine of school and are excited about starting their swimming lessons this week.

Our Prep One teacher Miss Siddans is especially impressed with how the Preps have adapted to the "big school” way of life.

Miss Siddans is a talented pianist, violinist and singer so the students have been learning new songs every day to enhance their learning experiences in class.

Stanthorpe Agricultural Show

Our students have shown their artistic skills at the Stanthorpe Agricultural Show.

This year the theme was "Celebrations” and our students had many different ideas.

Congratulations to all of our students who earned a ribbon and cash prize.

In addition, a special mention to Livia in Year 5, who came second in her age category in the fine arts competition. Well done.

Severnlea Centenary Street Stall

Our Centenary Committee is hosting a street stall on Saturday, February 17, outside the Country Club Hotel from 8am.

All proceeds will go towards our centenary celebrations in November.

The stall will have cakes, biscuits, slices and fresh produce. Please come and support our committee.

We are looking for past members of the Severnlea school community to make contact with our organising committee. This can be done in several ways - via the Facebook page Severnlea State School 100 Year Reunion or the website sites.google.com/ view/severnlea/home.

On the website is an online questionnaire to assist us to find past students and staff. You can also join our mailing group for up-to-date information and fundraising opportunities.

New students enrolments

We still have some spaces available for this year. If you would like to come and visit our facilities or have an enrolment interview with the principal, phone the office on 07 4683 5362.
