Second half rampage gifts Warwick touch title

TOUCH FOOTBALL: Under the bright lights, the Warwick Touch Football season came to a thrilling conclusion, with grand finals taking place on Wednesday night.

In the premier division, Live Action took home a thrilling A-Grade title, after a second half blitz saw them claim a 7-4 victory over minor premiers Designated Drinkers.

After trailing 2-1 at the main break, Live Action poured on six second half tries to score the upset win.

Team member Grant Lollback said the team's experience helped them reach the grand final.

"The core of the team has been together for four or five years, and we've added a few new players every year,” Lollback said.

"We worked our way up into A-grade and really enjoyed playing.

"We've won it once before.

"We're a bit of a social group, in that we go out to dinner, make sure everyone is having fun and enjoying each other's company.”

A stunning second half blitz saw Live Action storm to victory, and Lollback said improving on their first half spurred the turnaround.

"In the first half there were a few errors,” he said.

"We took them out of our game, upped our defence and wore the opposition out a bit.”

Despite taking on the minor premiers, Lollback said they took encouragement out of a previous encounter.

"The last time we played, we actually won, which gave us a bit of confidence out of that, he said.

"We played last year's premiers last week as well, so we were peaking at the right time.”
